House System

Our House System helps each child feel part of a team, working together to reach their potential. Every child is assigned a House and this vertical integration helps all our children - be it as a means of developing the communication and language skills of our Early Years children or the mentoring skills of our juniors.

Our House System promotes healthy competition and it aims to do this by providing House members with enjoyable and competitive House events, allowing students to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Every child in Year 6 has an opportunity to be House Captain. These positions are decided upon by House vote and House Captains take on leadership roles, such as helping organise and run many of the events in which the children will participate.

House Points can be awarded to a child who makes progress, shows excellent effort, takes a leadership role, demonstrates care and kindness, or participates in school activities.  House Points are collected weekly and announced during our celebration assembly before being updated on the House Board in the school Hall. At the end of the year the House with the most points wins the House Trophy.

Being a member of a House is about being a part of a team. Every member is significant, as each individual brings unique skills, knowledge and experiences. It’s an important part of life at St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School.

Who are the Houses?
