Homework

Homework is set on a Friday to be handed in the following Friday. Each week, children will be give 10 spellings to learn and maths homework related to what we have been learning in school that week. Topic homework based on our history or geography focus is set for the term and children should aim to complete one of the tasks given each week.

Children are also expected to read 3 times a week at home as a minimum. This only need to be for 5-10 minutes. In school, myself or Miss Belle listen to all of the children read once a week.

Times tables

By the end of Year 2, children are expected to know the multiplication and division facts for the 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables. Although we practise these regularly in school, any support you can give your child with learning these at home is appreciated. There are some websites in the ‘useful links’ area of our class page which the children can access to play maths games.
