Our Learning

Please take some time to visit our class page to find out more about what we will be learning in Year 1 and to keep up to date with what is happening in our classroom.

Reading

Reading is a very important part of Year 1, and we want all children to develop a love of books and stories.

We encourage children to read at home at least three times a week with an adult. Please record your child's reading in their reading record.

Children will bring their reading book and reading record home.
Please make sure both are brought into school every day.

Your support with reading at home makes a huge difference to your child's confidence and progress.

 Homework

Children will receive Maths and Spelling homework every Friday.

Homework should be completed and returned to school by the following Friday.

PE & Forest School

PE: Monday afternoon
Forest School: Tuesday afternoon

Please ensure children come to school appropriately prepared for these sessions.

Saint George is our Patron Saint. We will celebrate his feast day in April.
